Cuts continue to bite and anger grows in Southampton to both the Tory government and right wing Labour council cuts. We spoke to people in town and Shirley today.

Although a quiet day in Shirley precinct, the people we did meet wanted to vent their anger From asking why the Labour council is implementing cuts and their shameful treatment of those who are homeless to great concerns about the NHS and the climate crisis.

In town the same problems were raised and strong support shown for the need to fightback.

I see Keir Stamer has the support of UNISON, the public sector union. He is the candidate who is on record as accepting 5% cuts - if I was a Unison member I would ask if my leaders know which Unison members would be sacked as a result!
